Friday I had a little bit of an accident. I was getting ready to go workout and was leaning up against the wood part of our glass table putting on my shoes. Well our lovely miss Scarlet was having a little bit of a rough morning, she started walking over to me crying. I lost my focus and with one leg on the ground fell back into the glass part of our table. *CRASH!* Skyler came running in from the other room. I got myself up and told him,
"I think I might be cut."
"um, babe go out to the car now we're going to the hospital"
"K, let me pull my hair up and find some slip on shoes."
"Brie seriously, I'll get Scarlet, Just go out to the car now. You need stitches."
Realizing i was bleeding on the carpet i hurried and ran over to the kitchen.
I hate seeing blood! So I was afraid to look at my arm but I did, and oy, it was gruesome.
I walked out to the car. Sitting in the car i started to feel so lightheaded and realized my leg was soaked with blood too. Lovely.
Standing in the waiting room I was starting to shake and couldn't stand, finally they just let me go back while Sky finished the paperwork.
Skyler walked into my room and I noticed he was in such a rush to get us here that he didn't even put on shoes. Adorable barefooted kid.
I had a few little minor cuts on my back but only 2 major cuts that had to be stitched.
40 stitches (32 on my arm and 8 on my leg) later, i'm a whole person again. The cut on my arm is almost double the length of my c-section incision, haha.
Below was after they had stitched up my leg (there was a lot more blood before) I got up to go and blood just came pouring out...so it was back on the table for a few more stitches.
After we were done with the hospital room the Doctor joked he'd hurry and get someone in there to clean it all up because it looked like someone had been murdered with the blood every where. I am so grateful for the great a great doctor and nurse who made the 3 hours I spent being stitched up bearable.
We have some pretty gruesome before stitches pictures but I figured many people may not want to see all that. But seeing them does make you admire what a great job the dr did piecing my arm back together!
This is the infamous table now. I am in no hurry to replace that glass anytime soon. Scarlet keeps dropping things down the middle of it. It's her new game.
